Summary: SketchPing is built on the principle that your drawings and relationships belong exclusively to you. We do not sell your personal data, run advertising networks, train AI models on your artwork, or harvest your address book.
1. The Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum data required to deliver private drawing messages and game sessions between you and your chosen friends:
- Account & Profile: A pseudonymous user identifier, your chosen nickname, and your Apple ID, Google ID, or email credentials used for authentication.
- Drawing Envelopes (.spdg): Vector stroke coordinates, pressure values, tool choices, and rendering metadata stored in sealed envelopes. Drawing data is delivered only to the specific friend in that game session and is never analyzed or processed by third parties.
- Game State & Secret Authority: Turn sequences, prompts, twist directions, and guess attempts for Remix Relay, Quick Draw, Finish the Picture, and Doodle Chains. Game secrets are stored in protected server vaults and revealed only through verified game transitions.
- Virtual Inventory & Purchases: Your Sketch Coin balance and unlocked cosmetic items. Optional in-app purchases are processed directly by Apple or Google; SketchPing never receives, processes, or stores your credit card numbers or banking payment details.
- Device Push Tokens: Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration tokens to notify you when a friend sends you a turn or message.
- Invitation Credentials: High-entropy, single-use, cryptographically hashed bearer tokens used to establish one-to-one friendships.
2. What We Never Do
- No Address Book Harvesting: When inviting a friend, you select a recipient using your operating system's native single-contact picker or share a private link directly. We never scan, upload, or store your address book.
- No Public Galleries or Feeds: There are no public profile search engines, public feeds, or open matchmaking directories in V1. You only interact with contacts you have explicitly paired with.
- No Third-Party Advertising or Tracking: We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking scripts, or data broker integrations.
- No AI Model Training: We never use your drawings, doodles, or messages to train machine learning or generative AI models.
3. Children and Age Policy
Connected online multiplayer features in SketchPing are intended for users aged 13 and older. During onboarding, a neutral age decision ensures full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Users who select an age under 13 receive an offline, local-only drawing canvas with zero network access, zero account creation, and zero data transmission.
4. Data Storage and Security
All network communication is encrypted in transit using standard TLS 1.3. Drawing envelopes are stored in private cloud storage protected by strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring only active, authenticated participants in a friendship can access the underlying drawing files.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
You retain full ownership of your data. You can delete your account and all associated drawings directly inside the app under Settings > Delete Account or by following our Data Deletion Guide. Deletion immediately closes active sessions and permanently purges your stored drawing envelopes from our servers.
